I watched an interesting documentary last night, in which an interviewee posed the question:
If the oil light on your car came on, what would you do? Would you stick a plaster on it, or would you replenish the oil?
It is a perfect analogy of how we treat most conditions in the West. We treat the symptoms, and not the root cause. But, in doing this we often improve the expression of the problem, by blocking and deadening the messaging systems within our bodies, which are designed to alert us to the problem, whilst the underlying issue continues to persist and progress.
Sticking a plaster on an internal insufficiency, will never resolve the deeper issue.
The same is true of skin conditions… only dealing with the outward expression of a problem skin issue will never address the root cause.
So What Are The Root Causes Of Skin Conditions?
All problem skin conditions have something in common. They all share the underlying issue of compromised immunity. Because of this, inflammation is also common to all skin conditions, because an immune response is an inflammatory response.
To be inflamed very simply means that when we suffer from a skin condition, we are literally in flames. The skin reddens, feels warm and itchiness and irritation soon follow…
However, compromised immunity is only another symptom of the underlying issues. And, this is where it gets a little more complicated…
The Stressors That Cause Poor Immunity
When our immune system is working efficiently we are not aware of it.
To extend the car analogy, when a car is running smoothly, we don’t notice it. It’s only when the car starts to behave erratically that we know there’s a problem.
This translates very well where our bodies are concerned. When we are well, our immune systems cope with their daily tasks, but when we are overwhelmed by stressors, our immune systems start failing to cope with the demands placed upon them.
We often miss the first few signs of an overloaded immune system, and so this sets off a domino effect. As our bodies are a completely integrated system, one problem leads to a knock on effect, and the knock on effect then leads to another issue, and so on and so forth…
Sadly, it’s only when all of the knock on effects result in skin rashes, and spotty outbreaks that we really start to pay attention. There’s no ignoring it at this point!
There are many stressors that can affect the normal functioning of our immune system. Some of the most common stressors are as follows:
Emotional stress: relationship problems, money worries, and fearful news etc… and includes traumatic experiences like a motorcar accident etc…
Environmental stress: synthetic chemicals in personal care products, cleaning products, scented candles, and other fragranced products etc… also includes environmental mould and other pathogens, although a fully functioning immune system is designed to cope with natural stressors like these… what it is not designed to deal with is the chemical, synthetic stressors.
Physical stress: Poor diets, insufficient exercise and painful injuries and bodily misalignments create stress within the body. The latter usually has an emotional component too. A poor diet, with insufficient nutrients, causes physical stress and malfunction, which can quickly lead to systemic stress. Dehydration is another major physical stressor. But, one of the key physical stressors we can face is due to how we are born, and how our immune system is able to develop as we are growing up. Caesarian section babies and those that are not breastfed, have a poor start in life, and are left with a compromised immune system from birth. This is often compounded by a sugar-rich, poor diet. (Synthetic chemicals, sugar and seed oils are the key culprits of a poor diet. Please visit this article, dedicated to why seeds oils & omega-6 fatty acids are so bad for us on the Health News page of the Wild As The Wind Website.
Spiritual stress: Free will is the fundamental tenet of our spiritual lives. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression are, therefore, vitally important for our spiritual development, and overall spiritual health. Societal constraints cause us invisible stress on a daily basis. This stress is profoundly disturbing to our body and overall being.

Personal care products are a huge problem… please read Skincare Ingredients To Avoid for more information.
Cleaning products are equally toxic, and can not only ruin our skin, but can also cause us to gain weight that is very difficult to shift:

What Does Not Cause Skin Conditions?
Contrary to popular belief, genetics play a very minimal role in illnesses in general, and are certainly a minimal factor in skin conditions. We may inherit certain predispositions from our parents, but this is often because we also inherit the dietary insufficiencies of our parents, as they are most likely preparing our food.
A recent discovery, known as epigenetics, has proven that c. 95% of illnesses do not originate from a genetic cause. This is because the science of epigenetics has shown us that our genes switch on and off, depending on dietary, environmental and emotional factors.
The ‘bad’ genes switch on when we are overburdened, and the ‘good’ genes switch on when we are well-fed, relaxed and at peace with ourselves and environment.
The following things are invariably accused of causing our skin issues, but they are the final outcome and not the initiating factor.
Bacterial infection - we have beneficial bacteria that is an extention of our Gut Microbiome - this is why using antibacterial products on our skin can cause so many skin problems
Fungal infection
Parasitic infection
Viral infection
However, our overuse of antibiotics, and wireless technologies have, unfortunately, resulted in unnatural phenomena that our bodies are finding it difficult to contend with. But, we continue to blame the natural occurrences of bacteria and mould, instead of identifying why these things have transmuted to such overpowering strength.
Antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria are becoming increasingly difficult to defend against, especially when we turn to Western medicine for the answers. For example, the flesh eating skin condition, MRSA, often contracted in hospitals, is a catastrophic skin condition caused by antibiotic overuse.
However, essential oils, like Clary Sage Essential Oil, have been shown to successful treat MRSA.
Wild As The Wind also offer a Wildcrafted Organic Clary Sage Essential Oil and an Organic Clary Sage Essential Oil.
Other essential oils can also arrest MRSA. You can use the Wild As The Wind website to research these: simply put MRSA into the search box, and click return.
A combination of Thyme Essential Oil, Clary Sage Essential Oil, Litsea Essential Oil and Manuka Essential Oil, in an Organic Nigella Sativa Seed Oil base would be an ideal preparation to use during hospital visits and stays. Prevention is always better than cure. This combination of oils will help to do both.

The overuse of wireless technologies has led to environmental mould getting out of control. This is because mould thrives in an environment flooded with wireless technologies. Please read the following articles to understand this more:
Mould Is A Super-Toxin
Toxic Mould
Mould & Hormone Health
This final article explains how mould can interfere with our hormonal health. But, as the majority of our hormones are produced and regulated by our gut, hormonal dysregulation has a deeper cause…
Skin Issues & The Gut Connection
All skin issues have a digestive component. In fact, problem skin conditions actually start in the gut, in the main. This is because all of the stressors, mentioned earlier, negatively affect gut health.
Once the gut is dysregulated many of us will develop problem skin conditions. However, our propensity to develop skin conditions is greater in some than others.
Our gut constitutes 80% of our natural immune system, so when it isn’t working properly, it stands to reason that we will be unwell!
Learn how nearly 20% of us are so dysregulated that our immune system is on red alert 24/7. This has a catastrophic impact on our health: Mast Cell Activation Syndrome
Skin Issues & Our Personality
Those that are less assertive, and tend to bottle frustration, will find they are more likely to develop acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis than those who more freely express their emotions.
In instances where irritation does not have a healthy outlet, it can, quite literally, bubble up through the skin, emerging as a rash of one kind or another.

Other Factors Causing Skin Conditions
It is not just what we are being exposed to that is causing our skin issues. It is also the things we are missing out on that are causing skin problems.
Sun - insufficient sun is a major cause of problem skin.
And, the use of high SPF sun protection products is one of the key reasons we are failing to get the benefits of sun exposure. Plus, conventional sun protection products are cancer-causing. Sadly, this includes the ‘green’ alternatives. More information here: Carrier Oils For UV Protection
A failure to obtain sufficient sun does not just have adverse effects on our skin, it affects us at a systemic level.
Dietary insufficiency - failing to eat a balanced diet will undermine our systemic functions and lead to immune deficiencies.
Insufficient exercise - undermines our systemic functions and leads to immune deficiencies.
Insufficient relaxation & the pursuit of what we find uplifting & rewarding will do the same.
Magnesium deficieny - often due to an over-consumption of refined sugar and processed foods will cause dry skin conditions. This can be rectified by changing dietary habbits and using products like Mineral Spritz.
With all of these things, balance is key. When we are out of balance things start to go wrong, which can ultimately result in us developing skin issues.

Superficial Causes Of Skin Conditions
Using antibacterial products on our skin can cause many skin problems.
Using non-natural personal care products - this includes creams, which all contain emulsifiers and preservatives, at the very least!
Insufficient protection in extreme weather conditions.
Insufficient protection for our skin when we have underlying root causes for our skin conditions.
Using comedogenic products like Coconut oil on our face can cause breakouts.
Not letting our skin breathe - exacerbated by fake tan, and shimmering products containing mica and other solids etc. Obviously glues, makeup and glitter products reduce the breathability of the skin, also. For those wanting shimmering legs, use Organic Apricot Kernel Oil. For those wanting shimmering hair and face, use Organic Broccoli Seed Oil.

Can Topical Applications Help?
Yes, topical application of health inducing oils can address part of the issue.
Once we have developed skin conditions a two-pronged approach is required. We need to remedy the underlyiong issue, and then we need to remediate the symptoms.
Symptoms include:
Rashes
Greasiness
Spots
Scarring
Infection
Both of the Wild As The Wind facials oils are formulated to help with all of the problems associated with skin issues. And, both are supported by compelling feedback that attests their efficacy. I recommend you read the product descriptions and feedback on the product pages of each face oil to determine how well they could work for you.
Wild As The Wind Facial Oil No. 2
Facial Oil No. 2 helps in numerous ways. It contains a good number of essential oils to help restore hormonal balance and reduce the stress response. It also contains a good number of essential oils and carrier oils that are known to support skin health.
In addition, Facial Oil No. 2 posseses an excellent nutrient profile, designed to boost collagen and help support skin integrity. So aside from enhancing a youthful appearance, many people would benefit from using Facial Oil No. 2 to help with all manner of skin conditions.
Wild As The Wind Facial Oil No. 8
Facial Oil No. 8 offers many of the same benefits as Facial Oil No. 2, but it is formulated for those with fine skin, and small pores. It is known as a ‘dry oil’ owing to its very low comedogenic value, making it ideal for everyone to use in the summer months.
As Facial Oil No. 8 helps support hormonal balance, and is excellent for reducing the stress response, it can also break the cycle of repeated flare-ups.
It is a profoundly restorative face oil that can be used as a night serum in winter. However, being ultra-light, it doesn’t provide enough protection in the colder months, when being worn outdoors. This is covered comprehensively on the Wild As The Wind Facial Oil No. 8 product page, so please refer to this for more information.
Response To A Recent Question Re. Facial Oil No. 8
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't found Facial Oil No. 8 as moisturising as Facial Oil No. 2. It is meant to be worn in summer, and thus doesn't provide sufficient protection in the winter months, when worn outside, or indoors if you are relying heavily on central heating.
"Unfortunately it [Facial Oil No. 8] does not suit my skin at all - it made my skin very dry and papery - the No. 2 is amazing, and I wish I had got the large size in it instead. It really sinks in and gives a lovely glow and feel."
The dryness is from extremes of dry heat and cold impacting your skin, owing to insufficient protection. Facial Oil No. 8 can be augmented with another oil if you wish to use it in these conditions. Also, using a toner before applying Facial Oil No. 8 will trap in additional moisture. Simply spritz your face with toner and apply the Facial Oil No. 8 whilst your face is still moist from the toner.
Alternatively, wait until the more temperate days of Spring to use it, and you will see it behaves differently for you then.
You'll find more information on how to use Facial Oil No. 8 in winter on the product page: Wild As The Wind Facial Oil No. 8
Response To A Recent Question Re. Psoriasis
I advocate Organic Nigella Sativa Oil blended with Khella Essential Oil... the reasons why are in the product descriptions on the relevant product pages.
Also, cut out all carbs, processed milk (only A2 raw is good), and seed oils... and get your daughter’s skin exposed to sun as much as possible.
Also cut down on other stressors as much as possible. These articles on the Health News Page detail the most important ways of doing this:

Bulgarian Oils
I am so delighted that my trip to Bulgaria was 100% successful. There were so many reasons why this might not have been the case… it was very challenging in so many ways.
One of the key reasons I wanted to to urgently find a new supplier is because Wildcrafted Organic Rosehip Oil has been out of stock for too long.
Wildcrafted Organic Rosehip Oil
I am so thrilled that Wildcrafted Organic Rosehip Oil is back in stock. And, despite the fact that many prices have risen by up to 33% in Bulgaria in the last two years, I have listed it at the old price.
I will keep all product prices at the old rates until the Spring, which will allow you to save money on everything if you order before mid-April.
Wild As The Wind Facial Oil No. 2 Prices
Sadly, the price of Facial Oil No. 2 is going to be the most adversely affected by the current cost of oils. This is because Organic Rose Oil has risen by 33%.
I will absorb some of the cost myself, as per the last time the prices went up, but, unfortunately, I won’t be able to do this forever, because each time I do it my margins become increasingly slender.
